Welcome to WeConnectU. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

What WeConnectU Is

WeConnectU is an independent campus networking platform that helps verified college students connect academically and socially within their university network. We also provide tools for businesses and organizations to post campus-relevant events. WeConnectU is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any university or educational institution.

Who Can Use WeConnectU

Student accounts are available to individuals who meet WeConnectU's eligibility requirements and can verify affiliation with a supported college or university through eligible university credentials or supported authentication methods, and who are at least 16 years old. Business accounts are available to legitimate businesses, organizations, and student groups that wish to post events and engage with campus communities. To keep campus networks accurate over time, we may periodically require you to reverify your university affiliation. Continued access to your account may depend on completing this reverification when requested.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information during signup and to keep your profile information current. You may not create accounts for other people, use another student's university credentials, or impersonate any person or organization. WeConnectU reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use WeConnectU in a manner that is respectful, lawful, and consistent with the platform's purpose of campus networking. You may not: Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users Post content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or violent Post content involving sexual exploitation of any kind or non-consensual intimate content Engage in scams, fraud, doxxing, or impersonation Promote violence or illegal activity Spam other users with unsolicited messages or promotions Scrape or collect data about other users without their consent Use the platform for commercial advertising outside of the designated business event features Misrepresent your identity, university affiliation, or organizational role Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data Users can report content, events, or other users at any time, and blocked or reported accounts may be reviewed or restricted. We rely on user reports, combined with our own review, to help keep the platform safe, if you see something that violates these terms, please report it.

Content You Post

You retain ownership of any content you post on WeConnectU, including blog posts, event descriptions, club submissions, messages, and profile information. By posting content, you grant WeConnectU a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, format, and otherwise technically process that content as necessary to operate, improve, and promote the platform. This license ends when you delete your content, except where we are required or permitted to retain it for security, legal, or safety purposes. Academic blog posts automatically stop being publicly displayed after 24 hours and become part of your personal post history. WeConnectU reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we determine to be harmful, misleading, or inappropriate for a campus environment. You may only post content you have the rights to share.

If you believe content on WeConnectU infringes your copyright, contact us at support@joinweconnectu.comwith details, and we will review and may remove the material.

Events, Clubs, and Business Accounts

All events and clubs posted by businesses, organizations, and students are subject to review before or after publication to students. WeConnectU does not guarantee that submitted events or clubs will be approved. Events and clubs must be legitimate, safe, and relevant to college students.

WeConnectU does not organize, supervise, sponsor, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party events merely because they appear on the platform. WeConnectU is not responsible for the accuracy of event or club details, the quality of events, or any interactions that occur at events or through clubs posted on the platform. Businesses may not use WeConnectU to collect student personal information beyond what students voluntarily share through the platform.

Connections and Messaging

WeConnectU facilitates connections between students based on shared interests, majors, and campus activities. A connection requires mutual action, both users must agree to connect. Messages are intended for communication between participants and are not publicly visible. We may access or review messages when reasonably necessary to investigate reports, enforce these Terms, protect users, maintain security, or comply with law. Users can report content or other users at any time.

Premium Features

WeConnectU may introduce paid features, subscriptions, promotions, or other services in the future. Pricing and applicable terms will be disclosed before purchase. We may add, modify, limit, or discontinue free or paid features over time.

WeConnectU Ownership

WeConnectU owns and retains all rights to its software, branding, logos, design, trademarks, and platform content, apart from content you post. You may not copy, modify, or use WeConnectU's branding or platform without our permission.

Third-Party Services

WeConnectU allows sign-in through services like Google and Microsoft, and businesses may include links to their own websites or social media. These third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies, and WeConnectU is not responsible for their content or practices.

Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Our use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. By using WeConnectU, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer

WeConnectU is provided as-is without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the identity of users beyond the verification methods we use, the accuracy of user profiles or event details, attendance or safety at events, the legitimacy of businesses or organizations beyond our review process, or compatibility between users. WeConnectU is a networking tool, the quality of interactions depends on the users themselves.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WeConnectU and its founders, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes but is not limited to damages from interactions with other users, attendance at events posted on the platform, or reliance on information provided by other users or businesses.

Account Termination

You may deactivate your account temporarily at any time from within the app, which hides your profile from other students until you log back in. You may also permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app, or by contacting us. WeConnectU may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your account poses a security risk, or if required by law. Upon deletion, your profile and associated data will be removed or de-identified within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Termination or deletion does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as WeConnectU evolves. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of WeConnectU after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of WeConnectU shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.
